Well folks, we’ve made it to another holiday, which just happens to be one of my favorites. The reason why I love Thanksgiving is — and no, it’s not the food although it’s pretty amazing! — is because I get to spend time with my family, the people closest to me.
I imagine it’s the same for you. There’s nothing more valuable than spending precious time with your loved ones and being thankful for what you have. We humans take a lot for granted and we forget the little things that really matter.
Thanksgiving is the beginning of the holiday season — also my all-time favorite part of the year! — and we kick it off by showing our thanks for the things we appreciate, even if we should do it more often than just one day. We end the holiday season by giving priceless gifts to our family and friends to show how much we love each other and saying farewell to yet another year. However, that’s not what this article is about.
This holiday is celebrated in many different ways. Some people celebrate by attending parades, others help out the less fortunate by going to shelters and rolling up their sleeves to give food to them, and some go over to their grandparents’ houses where their grandmother is cooking the most delicious turkey they’ve ever eaten in their life!
Celebrate Thanksgiving in the way that matters the most to you and show what you’re thankful for.
So, when you’re gathered around the table with your family and close friends with a bountiful meal spread all over, just waiting to be eaten, make a toast and say what’s in your heart. Say how much you love them and how grateful you are to have such great people in your lives.
Amidst the excited chattering around the table, sit and smile as you see how cheerful everyone is to just be there with the people they love. There’s nothing more blissful on this planet than eating a fantastic meal with people who chose to spend their Thanksgiving with you and yours with them. These moments are few and far in-between so appreciate them while you can!
There’s nothing like polishing off a heavy meal that makes you sleepy with pie! You can’t go wrong with pecan, cherry, apple, or any other kind! Eating a slice of that yummy pie will make it easier for you to fall asleep.
Thanksgiving is truly a special day, so take advantage of it! The memories you create today, you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life. Whenever you think back to this day, you’ll have warm and fuzzy memories.
