A fantasy world teems with secrets from glade to glen. The prospect of discovering them always brings a smile to people’s faces, especially those who have just taken their first steps into a new world unlike any they’ve known beforehand. There is one aspect people want to know more about and that would be magic. They want to delve deep into the secrets of magic so that they can understand this mysterious power and put it to use.
While many magic-users are simply content with using spells that enable them to live their everyday lives, there are others who are more keen in expanding the frontiers of magic. They endeavor to discover new spells and powers with the aim of going down in history as being the one who found them. These spells and powers have the potential to change the world in both positive and negative ways.
There are several ways to go about unearthing the secrets of magic. There’s the classic go-to: books. But not just any book will do. There are some that are dedicated solely to the research and development of powers and they are not found in places that are easy for people to access. Only those with a burning desire for knowledge and steadfast courage can and will find these tomes.
The second place where one might be inclined to search for the secrets of magic would be in distant places. They could be ancient castles, mansions, or even dungeons. These places are full of peril and treasure. If one knows where to look for, he just might find the object of his desire, provided he can overcome the dangers that stand between him and it.
For those who possess a deep reservoir of knowledge of magic, powerful practitioners are apt to conduct experiments and use the research they accumulate during them to try to unlock the deepest secrets of magic. This is not without risk; there’s always a chance a mishap could happen which is why only the most powerful ones are capable of doing this. Those who don’t have as much power as they do would be wise to look elsewhere.

Magic comes in all forms and variations which is why it can be difficult to master every possible spell known to wizards and witches. However, they can only learn spells from the common books that appear in places like libraries. These spells are meant for everyday use, to help people go about their daily lives.
For those who hunger for more, there is a way for them to satiate their thirst. They can take a gander at books that showcase more sophisticated forms of magic. This helps them learn about these powers though it will take some time for them to truly master them, for they are more physically demanding than the ones they know thus far.
In some cases, the secrets of magic are found right inside tomes or other books. These heavyweight books are replete with examples of uncommon, rare, and one-of-a-kind spells. Besides spells, these tomes also dive into the theoretical and practical aspect of concepts too advanced for the majority of people to comprehend. The jargon they use to describe them are very specific since these powers can hurt someone if not performed in the right way.
While some of these tomes appear many libraries, others are found in more…secluded areas like castles. These places are restricted to the public, meaning only those who have permission to be on the grounds can be there to read them. These books customarily have knowledge more detailed than those found in libraries which makes them excellent reading material to find the secrets of magic.
There are some especially rare books that explore the secrets of magic on a level unlike any other. They have illustrations on how it works and the potential side effects of casting a spell in the wrong order. Only those who have a great understanding of magic can perform these immensely complicated spells.
For those not content with discovering the secrets of magic in libraries or places like castles, there are other areas they can search. Areas that are considerably off the beaten path. But they won’t open up their secrets for just anyone, at least not easily.
Places like fortresses, temples, and dungeons are ideal spots to stumble upon secrets, for their halls are filled to the brim with traps and monsters. Furthermore, they’re found in places nobody would dare venture step in. Who would trek to a snowy temple atop a mountain or a haunted pyramid in the depths of the desert?
There are many terrific spots to use as hiding places for the secrets of magic. Besides buildings and holy sites, you can use organic ones like trees, caves, even mountains. And they can be find in just about every environment, from the frozen tundra to the roaring waves of the beach to the heart of the jungle.
These places are awash in treasure and not just those plated with gold or other priceless artifacts. No, they contain some secrets of magic that will help the ones who successfully defeat the marauding monsters and deftly avoid the traps within their halls become an exceptionally powerful sorcerer capable of doing great things.
The location of these sites are either lost to time or known to a select few. For those who desire to unearth the secrets of magic, they’ll need to find a clue or two that point the way to the location or find the right person to ask. However, finding the clue or person is only one part; they’ll need to either search in the right area or do something for the person in exchange for obtaining the location.
There are some wizards who’d prefer to get hands-on experience as they endeavor to dive deep into magic. They might have already perused the tomes and other books to see what’s out there but they want to put in the work to unravel secrets. In other words, they want to forge new frontiers.
One surefire methods these wizards would go to get the secrets of magic is to conduct experiments. They might pore over texts they’ve already read to review what they know so that they can put together an experiment to break new ground or obtain one secret. They do so in order to gather research that they can put together to good use later on.
These experiments are not for the faint of heart or those who have little understanding of how magic functions. Instead they are for those who have a great proficiency in magic and also has an ironclad determination to see things through no matter where they go. They go in with the understanding that there’s an inherent risk in forging new ground for magic but they don’t let that deter them from trying.
Another method to unlock the secrets of magic by sorcery is to increase the innate power wizards have within themselves. They believe by gaining complete master of their skills, they can then harness it to expand their knowledge with the aims of reaching the level needed to obtain magical secrets. They go about it by regularly practicing their spellwork and developing new ones using what they know.
The third route to go about obtaining the secrets of magic is to gain a sense of enlightenment. Wizards practice mediation in order to achieve a sense of sereneness that they hope will lead them to spiritual enlightenment where the secrets are waiting. They also like to become one with nature, as they believe it offers them the best avenue to reach the level needed to gain access to the secrets.
The prospect of unlocking the secrets of magic tantalizes a lot of wizards. They want to truly understand what magic is capable of though they might be unsure as to how to go about it. Fortunately for them, there are several avenues they could pursue and they can select one or all of them.
The first way is the most basic one: reading arcane tomes and books. These heavyweight books are found in libraries and dusty old castles where they’re packed to the brim with all kinds of drawings and esoteric text that only a select few can read. These books also break them down into the theoretical and practical applications so that readers can gain a full understanding of how they work.
Another road to find the secrets of magic lie in remote locations. Whether it’s a cave in the heart of a volcano or an abandoned mansion right in the middle of a vast graveyard, these places are excellent options to come across one or more secret. The only caveat is that those who dare step inside better be prepared to deal with vicious monsters and deadly traps.
The third method is to master the art of sorcery. This entails gaining full control of one’s innate power and using it to create new spells and conduct experiments with the design of pushing the boundaries of what magic can do. This method isn’t for everyone, just a few have the wherewithal to do this.
Adding the secrets of magic to a world that has it is a superb way to add mystique to the world. Just be sure to make the journey in reaching them equally exciting as the destination. Your audience will appreciate it for you will have given them an experience they won’t forget!
